Mind Over Matter is a collection of intensely personal pieces. It includes 4 works dedicated a few of the most important people in my life (Always, Just To Say Hello, Snowfall, and Looking Up) and one 3 movement piece depicting my experience living with Bipolar II (title piece Mind Over Matter).

Shortly after countries all over the world started shutting down due to COVID-19 I was contacted by a fellow composer about joining a group of composers from all over the world in a collaborative project called Para el Pueblo. I was honored to work with composers Emily Ta (New Jersey) and Uxío Darriba (Spain) to create 3 duets for cello and piano. My composition is titled The Inbetween in an acknowledgement a state of being in a transitional period in my life during quarantine as I sit waiting for the next chapter of my life to begin, and the transitional state that our country is in during the fight for racial equity and the end of police brutality. Keep Up or Shut Up is, put bluntly, about capitalism. It follows the story of a bright eyed college graduate entering the world to discover that it was not the "great economy" full of well paying jobs that they were told to expect. The graduate soon learns that the degree doesn't mean they will make a living wage. They still have to struggle to keep their head above water and keep up with the pace and expense of living in a capitalist society.
